Expert Online Tutor For Maths, Computer Science & Tech Skills At £25/hour

I offer tailor-made Maths, Computer Science and Tech Skills lessons for students of all ages. From primary school maths to university computer science, I can help students achieve their potential and build a deeper understanding of their area.

My Maths & Computer science tutoring focuses on the deeper theory of the subjects, and using this theory to solve problems, build programs and ultimately to be able to answer any exam question.

The Tech Skills tutoring, on the other hand, takes a much more hands-on approach with tools like Office 365, WordPress, programming in a variety of languages and using Windows efficiently.

You can read more about me and my experience on my home page, and you may also be interested in reading some articles on my blog, where I will be publishing articles on maths, computer science and also on education/teaching.

Tailor-Made Lessons For Every Student

All of my lessons are tailor-made for each student, subject and level. Every student learns in a unique way, and the best lessons will hone in on that individual learning style to get the most out of each student.

Some students learn best by answering exam questions, while others would rather discuss the theory. Some favour diagrams whilst others prefer algorithms. There’s never just one way to teach a particular topic, so I’ll adapt my lessons to focus on how you learn.

DBS-Checked & Trusted By Schools

With an enhanced DBS check (28th Jan 2020), you can trust that my lessons will be safe, secure and professional. I will always maintain communication with parents, and all lessons will be held over a fully-encrypted video call. Read more about enhanced DBS checks.

Having been trusted by schools to remotely tutor students during school hours, I understand the importance of putting child protection first. If you have any other requests about child protection, I will be more than happy to help.

Theory-first Teaching

I believe that teaching the theoretical basis of Maths/Computer Science first is by far the most effective way for students to truly understand the topics they’ll be learning.

By focussing on the logic and deep mathematical concepts before jumping into real-world scenarios and large programming projects, students will have a much firmer grasp on why these practical techniques actually work in the real world.

Once the theory has been covered, we’ll then put these ideas into practice by building interesting, fun programs in Computer Science and by solving unique, challenging problems in Maths.

Over 100 Completed Lessons

I’ve taught over 100 lessons to A Level & GCSE students, all in Maths & Computer Science. With this vast range of experience, I’ve learnt what works to engage individual students and how best to structure my lessons to make the most of the lesson time.

The vast majority of my students book regular lessons and continue these lessons for a long period of time, allowing me to really adapt my lessons to how they learn.

For both maths and computer science, I can tutor all levels and ages. From KS2 (age 8) right up to university level (I can only tutor specific topics at university level, please get in touch to see if I can help). I can also tutor most international qualifications aimed at similar ages, but I will need to look at each qualification individually to see if I’m able to teach it.

Pricing

All of my lessons are £25/hour. I can offer lessons of any length, but I find that the best length is generally 60-90 minutes.

Lessons will all take place online, ideally with a video call and a shared online whiteboard. We may also require a shared programming session for some lessons. I will arrange all of these at no extra charge.

Book Free Meeting

Before I have any lessons with students, I always hold a 15 minute free online meeting with the student (and the parent if they’d like). This meeting allows us to introduce ourselves, and helps me understand exactly what you’re looking to focus on and learn. It also gives you to the opportunity to meet me and see how we get on, before any money is paid. There’s no catch, you don’t have to book any lessons or pay any money to have a free meeting.
